During Edgar Cayce's lifetime, the records of the readings were his personal property. After his death, they became the property of his sons, Hugh Lynn Cayce and Edgar Evans Cayce, and his secretary, Gladys Davis Turner. They were stored in the Cayce home and office. In February 1948, the Edgar Cayce Foundation (ECF) was chartered by the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide sole permanent legal and physical custody of historical resources including the original records and correspondence, business papers, appointment books, photographs, and recorded lectures. A number of donated items in the vault include a mummy's hand and gemstone collection. The Edgar Cayce readings are copyrighted by the Edgar Cayce Foundation, solely responsible for granting permission to use the materials. Claire Gardner worked for several years as the Archive Coordinator.
A great granddaughter of Edgar Cayce, Corinne Cayce was raised on material from the Cayce readings and has continued to study and apply the readings as the core of her spiritual path. The sudden and unexpected death of her father, Charles Thomas Cayce, in 2016, pushed her to explore more deeply the readings related to death and loss. Corinne is a speaker and writer for the A.R.E. and a life coach who focuses on helping clients incorporate material from Cayce readings into their daily lives. Health Center & Spa in Virginia Beach. Denise began her study of wellness practices at the A.R.E. in 1975 and trained in several healing arts at the Cayce/Reilly® School of Massage. She also holds a 3rd degree black belt in Shotokan Karate. Ellen was certified in Hypnotherapy by the Institute for Therapeutic Learning and the National Guild of Hypnotists. She studied with Jack Elias and Allen Chips.
