As we enter the year 2020 and give thought to what has been and what is to come, let us reflect upon what guidance the Edgar Cayce work might offer to us.
In a nutshell, his work tells of our cosmic origins, our creative nature desiring expansion and growth, coming to the Earth out of curiosity and then becoming entangled in this school of Patience. As we look back, even just 22 years*, we can see that we are just rising up from one of the periods of the greatest testing that this Earth plane has known. Cayce puts us currently in the times of the Revelation with the incredible hope of perhaps obtaining a time of real and true Peace on Earth. “May you live in interesting times” is ever accurate of this current moment in history!
So placing us in this time of just coming out of incredible testing and trying to make our way to peace, what might be helpful to glisten from the Cayce work? What first comes to my mind is to remember that the Christ is a consciousness, not a person. I used to think Christ was just Jesus’ last name, as if he was the son of Mary and Joseph Christ. The Cayce work helped me understand that the Christ is a consciousness, obtained by Jesus, but not solely His possession. It is a consciousness available to all of us. In fact, we all act from that consciousness regularly when we act out of kindness, generosity or any of the Fruits of the Spirit. When we think of another as ourselves, we are engaging the Christ Consciousness. But it is also useful to acknowledge that there are other states of consciousness available to us that we also indulge. Just as the Christ is a consciousness of oneness, there is also a consciousness of separation. Cayce defined that as the consciousness opposed to the Christ Consciousness – the anti-Christ consciousness. So just as Christ is a consciousness, not a person, so the anti-Christ is not a person, but a consciousness. Here is a section of reading 281-16, on The Book of Revelation, where Cayce addresses this matter:
Q-4. In what form does the anti-Christ come, spoken of in Revelation?
A-4. In the spirit of that opposed to the spirit of truth. The fruits of the spirit of the Christ are love, joy, obedience, long-suffering, brotherly love, kindness. Against such there is no law. The spirit of hate, the anti-Christ, is contention, strife, fault-finding, lovers of self, lovers of praise. Those are the anti-Christ, and take possession of groups, masses, and show themselves even in the lives of men.
As we see in the poignant last line, in many ways, we are all working with these opposing energies that “show themselves” in our lives. We “channel” the Christ when we are kind and loving, but we also drink of the anti-Christ when we act from selfishness, divisiveness, strife or greed. We all have these two factions within vying for our attention and actions.
So as we “grow” into 2020 as a collective soul group consciousness, let us be mindful of what it is that we are feeding. I had a personal revelation some years ago during a regression and the gist of it was this: You have the fruits of the Spirit and then you have everything else. When you act from the fruits of the Christ spirit, you are really acting from the soul/oneness consciousness and are not really in the physical at all. You are in the eternal. But when you react unconsciously, from the place of separation – from frustration, entitlement, fault-finding, then you are creating karma. You are moving from the eternal into the world of cause and effect. Basically, a cause has been created that has to meet its effect, you could say like a bruise. It will just take time to heal. So when you awaken to your anti-Christ actions, quickly ask for forgiveness, make amends, heal that injury as quickly as you can. Don’t let it linger. If we all approach 2020 as an opportunity to personally act more from the place of compassion and humility, we will have done a great thing not only for ourselves, but for our collective consciousness. And if we can learn to correct quickly, almost reflexively. Don’t let a grudge or resentment linger. For it only slows our personal and collective evolution. But remember, also, that we are human. We will fall to the anti-Christ/selfishness temptation. The goal is not perfection but correction. If it did, indeed, take the Jesus’ soul 33 lifetimes to obtain Christhood, then also let yourself also be a Christ in progress. Be patient, but consistent and persistent. He taught forgiveness as the Master Law. Let us remember to make amends and then forgive ourselves.
So as Cayce references so often from Deuteronomy, “Choose Thou!”. Let’s choose 2020 be a year of growth, forgiveness and evolution. Here a little, there a little. Let’s grow there together!
