Do Some Spiritual Spring Cleaning at Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. in April
Virginia Beach, Va. – Ahead in April, Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. will feature events that can help you find meaning in a changing world, be more confident in group situations, or connect with passed loved ones— consider it spring cleaning for the mind, body, and soul!
Free and open to the public, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Connie Utpaul presents April’s Conscious Community Lecture, Are You a Highly Sensitive Person? If you find yourself overwhelmed by large crowds or loud noises, rattled when you have a lot to do, or needing silence to recharge, you may be among the nearly 20 percent of people who are “highly sensitive”—a normal, innate trait often misunderstood or mislabeled as “shy.” A.R.E. is offering this event for free to all.
Spend a worthwhile weekend at the Sacred Journey conference, April 21 – 23. A.R.E. director Jennie Taylor Martin says, “Every person on the planet is here for a reason, and we are offering this program to help people to find meaning in a changing world.” This program includes guided meditations and a group past-life regression session, and features Mark Thurston, PhD; Peter Woodbury, MSW; Edgar Cayce’s great-granddaughter, Corinne Cayce, MA; Sacred Journey author M.K. Welsch; Tom Baker, MDiv, LCSW; and Karen Boldt. A.R.E. Life Members may redeem their passes for this program. To learn more or register, visit A.R.E.’s Sacred Journey event online.
During the April 27 Spirit Message Circle, psychic medium Ashley Strong will help participants get in touch with loved ones who have passed on, and shares insights from the other side. The circle is limited to 20 guests. Cost is $30 per person, and members of A.R.E. receive a $5 discount. To register, call the A.R.E. Bookstore & Gift Shop at 757-457-7231.
In addition to these special events, A.R.E. offers free activities daily including a lecture, tour, and film, weekend E.S.P. demonstrations, and guided mediations. The campus also includes an organic café featuring The Leaping Lizard, and a holistic Health Center & Spa (see AREHealth.org), both located in the historic Cayce hospital “on the hill” at 67th Street.
Edgar Cayce founded the non-profit Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in 1931, to explore spirituality, holistic health, intuition, dream interpretation, psychic development, reincarnation, and ancient mysteries—all subjects that frequently came up in the more than 14,000 documented psychic readings given by Cayce, who died in 1945. The mission of A.R.E. is simply to help people around the world change their lives for the better through the ideas and information found in the Cayce readings. The Virginia Beach headquarters is a popular site for locals and tourists with free daily lectures, a Health Center & Spa, the Cayce/Reilly® School of Massage, the largest metaphysical library, a meditation garden, stone labyrinth, and a Bookstore and Giftshop. Visitors from around the world come to experience the A.R.E. The campus is also home to Atlantic University which offers two masters degrees (Transpersonal Psychology and Leadership Studies) through an online platform, as well as continuing education and certificate programs. Through A.R.E.’s many programs, services, publications, and membership outreach, individuals from all walks of life and religious backgrounds are provided with tools for personal transformation and healing at all levels—body, mind, and spirit.
